Donations and Banner Policy for 2006
There are several ways to put “your own ads” on Forumosa:
- web banners in ad zones in our forums
- classifieds in our forumosafieds database
- “For hire” descriptions in our membership directory (aka Forumosans.com)
- Text ads in e-mail notifications and alerts
- Descriptive discussion threads in appropriate forums
Forumosa.com is not a business, it is a 100% volunteer-run online community. Donations to help us defray the costs of operating this website are always welcome. Although donations are not required to have a web or text banner ad on Forumosa (with one notable exception, see below), if you have given a donation and you are running an ad, we will “weight” your banners more heavily, so they appear slightly more often than banners that are not accompanied by a donation.

If you have a banner rotating in Forumosa, you also have a Forumosa Ads Account which you can log into anytime to check the statistics of your ad campaigns. Contact one of the admins if you need your log-in information.
To log-in:
1. go to http://ads.forumosa.com
2. Enter your assigned login ID
3. Enter your password - if you have never logged in before, please remember to change the assigned password to one that you can easily remember
Web Banners
We use 3 graphical web zones:
- The smaller, “horizontal” forum banners
- The popular, squarish thread banners
- The large banners at the top of most forum pages

Forum 468×60 banners
Banners that rotate in this zone are either “small donors” (who have given us NT$ 1,000 to 2,000) or free banner exchanges. We exchange banners with websites, companies, people and events for free - although we reserve the right to not exchange. Forumosa’s moderators and admins are free to promote any cause, company, or service they choose. Banners in this zone have 2 kinds of weightings: regular weighting for our free banner exchanges and premium weighting for our small donors |

Discussion Threads 300×250 Banners
Like the Forum 468 Banners, these are offered for small donors or free exchange. This zone has the most visibility and clickthroughs. Forumosa’s moderators and admins are free to promote any cause, company, or service they choose. Banners in this zone have 2 kinds of weightings: regular weighting for our free banner exchanges and premium weighting for our small donors |

Large Donor Banners
The large 728×60 pixel banners at the top of the forum front and discussion thread pages (click the picture on the right to get a better view) are reserved for the our hosting donors - the 12 companies and individuals who helped us pay our hosting costs for 2005. |
