New Login for our donors

I’ve added a couple of new links at the bottom of the forums so that our banner advertisers can easily check how their statistics are doing. There are 2 links down there, too - one to show a list of the cool people who support this website and the other to donor stats login page

Questions from Answer.com

Added the little Blufr quiz to spice up that interstitial success page after you post in the forums. What do you think of it? Stay or nay?

Minor changes to Forum Sitemap

I’ve made a number of changes to the Forum Sitemap this morning. Some highlights:

  • Added YouTube screen
  • Added Taiwanted search forms
  • Re-grouped Life and Leisure forums
  • Added links to Entrepreneurship Group
  • Syndicating Taiwanted Classifieds for Your Site

A new feature we are offering for the Taiwanted ads is the ability to include a feed on your site. An example of this can be found on Taiwan Ho! at http://www.taiwanho.com/classifieds

We can tailor your feed to fit your site, and we will work on the style of display to fit your needs.

As the example above shows, you can choose to incorporate Google ads (or any other ad system you like) to bring in some extra income. Any revenue earned this way is yours.

We do ask that it is made clear that the ads come from Taiwanted and that the links to the ads go directly to Taiwanted, but apart from that, you can choose how you incorporate them into your site.

If you would like more information, please contact malc(a t)forumosa.com.

Site down - Look here for updates

It appears that Forumosa is down, and this seems like a better place than the Ho! to issues notices.

I have tried calling the host in the States (it’s a different company to the which one hosts this area) but no answer. I’ll post info here as I get it.

Well we are back up. I don’t know what caused that…

    Taiwanted Development Underway

Some of you may have noticed to some change to the classifieds, which are still under forumosafieds.com, but will be moved shortly to their final resting place at taiwanted.com.

Premium ads are now in a premium position with formatting which I think makes them stand out.

I have also added a list of the top two latest ads from each category on the front page, plus a link to all the latest ads which you can access directly here: http://www.forumosafieds.com/latestads.php

It takes a long time to become familiar with new software, which is why the developments have been a long time coming. Hopefully now I will be able to really get cracking on making Taiwanted the most user friendly classifieds out there.

As always your feedback really helps to define the direction of development. Your comments are always most welcome, preferably in the forums which are more visible then this blog, but you can also email me at malc(a t)forumosa.com or PM me through the forums (user name Malc).

    Taiwanted.com in print

We are planning a fortnightly ‘zine where the latest classified ads from Taiwanted.com (formerly the Forumosafieds) will be printed. We will start distributing at bars and restaurants frequented by Forumosans, and eventually expand this to places all around Taiwan.

Please contact us at admin @ forumosa.com if you can help us distribute, publish or write for this new print project

    Forumosafieds to Loot to Taiwanted.com

We just can’t sit still. Remember back when Forumosa was called ORIENTED, before it was called Segue? The naming bug has been at it again and we’ve swapped names for our classifieds website several times as well

    Re-introducing: Taiwanted.com

We think this latest name is a keeper. As long promised, the ads that you place online will appear in print in our new, bi-weeky magazine (Taiwanease Magazine)

You need to have a Forumosa ID to login and place ads.

Please remember that we are still testing things out and there are still many bugs to work out. The main bug is one which makes it appear that you hav to pay to place ads. You don’t - it’s still a free website. In the future, we plan to charge for teacher ads, but all other ads will remain free of charge

The bug only affects the very first ad you try to place. Any attempts afterwards will not trigger the payment request. So the solution is to start off by placing a dummy ad as your first ad. Then when you try to place another ad, it will work smoothly.
